Over 50 speakers, up to 300 experts, government officials, academics, and media representatives from over 15 countries discussed security issues the South Caucasus and its neighborhood faces at the 6th annual South Caucasus Security Forum conducted in Tbilisi on May 13-14, 2019.
The first day of the forum was devoted to a number of topics including NATO-Black sea security, conflicts in the South Caucasus region, climate change as a security challenge for the region and hybrid threats. On the second day, the participants discussed the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership initiative, the role of media in the South Caucasus, Turkey-US relations, challenges of democracy and growing influence of populism within the EU and the United States.
The event was organized by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation), Strategic Policy Institute-Stratpol (Slovakia) and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Strategic supporters of the security forum were International Visegrad Fund, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the Embassy of Poland in Georgia.
