Radu Burduja
Radu Burduja is the Executive Director of the Euro-Atlantic Institute for Building Resilience, a Chișinău based NGO focused on enhancing the resilience of the Republic of Moldova to counter the broad spectrum of hybrid threats.
Mr. Burduja had a distinguished 27-year career in the military, and is an expert in defense and security policy. He has served as State Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense from 2017 to 2019, and held the position of Military Representative of the Republic of Moldova to NATO and European Union from 2016 to 2017, and from 2019 to 2021.
Throughout his career, Mr. Burduja has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of defense and security policies for the Republic of Moldova. This includes drafting and approval of the country’s first National Defense Strategy and Military Strategy. He has also been instrumental in leading the transformation efforts of the National Army. Mr. Burduja has extensive experience in conducting research, and providing expert advice in his field of expertise.
Mr. Burduja is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Sciences at the State University of Moldova. He holds an MBA from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the Command and General Staff College in the US, and a Master’s in Operational Art and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies in the US. He is also a George C. Marshall alumni.
