Regis Gente
Journalist and specialist in the former Soviet space, based since 2002 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He covers news from the South Caucasus, Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia for Radio France Internationale (RFI), France 24, Le Figaro and others. He has covered most of the key events that took place in the region for 22 years, such as the Rose Revolution in 2003, Russia-Georgia 2008 war, Ukrainian Maidan in 2004 and 2014, Crimea annexation and war in Donbass, Armenian 2018 velvet revolution, Karabakh 2020 war… He also writes analytical reports for various think tanks and research centers such as IFRI or ECFR. He is the author of four books: Journey to the country of the Abkhazians (Editions Cartouche, 2012), Poutine and the Caucasus (Editions Buchet-Chastel, 2014), Futbol, the round ball from Stalin to Putin (G. Allary, 2018 ) and Volodymyr Zelensky, in the head of a hero (R. Laffont, 2022).
